“Art is important. We tend to think of it as a luxury, but it gives people deep pleasure because beauty is the personification of hope that something grander is at work.”
Gil Dellinger, Painter

Josephine Dash is a passionate Wollongong based Visual Artist who enjoys working with various mediums and media arts, to explore universal themes such as hope, healing and spirituality. Her creative practice often incorporates an interplay between expanded Visual Art platforms, functionality and spatial possibilities. These include but not limited to Installation, Photography, Painting, Sculpture, Textiles and Fibre Arts.
Josephine enjoys painting in a semi-abstract style and uses a combination of palette knife and traditional brush strokes, to achieve the desirable effects. She carefully selects and mixes her own colours, combining this with a reflective plan for the composition and uses multiple paint layering techniques. This becomes an expression of a meditative and dreamlike state of consciousness and is grounded in her practice based research of how memory and aesthetics relate to time and place. Through these connections and by living on the South Coast of Australia, Josephine finds endless subject matter and inspiration to create these artworks.

Carol Barroso was born in 1981 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
From the early age of eighteen she travelled the world and has lived in a number of different places including, Boston, New York, London, India and Sydney. Now Carol is based in the South Coast of NSW.
Her work is a highly expressive impression of the landscape. Her fertile spiritual life serves her art practice well in the sense of sharpening and deepening her innate sensitivity.
Carol believes that her practice has developed into a poetic exercise of spontaneity, where the act of painting develops as it would a poem. She reads poetry extensively and is largely influences by it, as much as she is by nature.
Carol commenced her art education in New York at the age of 20. She started with studying photography and then transitioned into painting in 2005. Carol creates incessantly, almost as compulsion to make her inner world visible. Carol graduated from Cofa UNSW Australia with a Masters of Fine Arts in 2016. In 2022 she also graduated from Western Sydney Uni with a Masters of Art Therapy.
